Kobakhidze issued the corresponding order on August 14. The reason for Jangulashvili's dismissal remains unknown.
Mamuka Jangulashvili was appointed as the head of the National Bureau of Forensic Examination in March 2021 by the then-Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili. Prior to this role, he worked in the investigative departments of the Ministry of Finance since 2006. From 2015, he served as the head of the tax monitoring department of the Revenue Service, and from 2018 to 2021, he held the position of head of the customs department.
According to the law, the head of the Levan Samkharauli National Bureau of Forensic Expertise is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister of Georgia.
