“Russia almost certainly aims to return Georgia to its sphere of influence.
Since the parliamentary elections in October, the Georgia Dream-led government has created an environment that enables Russia to increase its influence in the country,” the report states.
Regarding Armenia, the report states that “Russo-Armenian relations deteriorated last year, as Armenia threatened withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization and Russia used information operations to denigrate Armenian democracy and its more pro-Western leadership”.
In addition to threats from Russia, the report also examines threats stemming from China, Iran (and its proxy forces), North Korea, and other countries.
"This is total nonsense. What increase of influence are they talking about? The fact that such nonsense ends up in such important documents indicates the influence of the Deep State,” said Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgian Dream, reacting to the assessment of Georgia in the US Defense Intelligence Agency's report.
