According to Narmania, electricity has been supplied to consumers at a “reduced tariff of 3 tetri” for the past two years.
GNERC will review natural gas tariffs. As Narmania stated, there are currently no prerequisites for tariff increases — “only a very minimal adjustment may be considered.”
“The increase will impact electricity tariffs; however, it will be difficult for me to specify a precise figure or percentage of the increase at this time, as the Regulatory Commission is working on the matter daily,” Narmania noted.
According to him, the tariff is affected by investments from energy companies and increasing energy prices.
Over the next five years, Energo Pro will invest more than 1.5 billion GEL in regional development. This includes upgrading transmission lines, modernising substations and transformers, and addressing frequent accidents, power outages, and voltage-related issues in the regions, which will be gradually resolved through this investment. Up to 400 million GEL will be allocated to the Telasi network over the same period,” said Davit Narmania.
GNERC stated that, compared to neighbouring and European countries, the tariffs in Georgia are the lowest.
